The Silver Cord is a project I worked on many years ago with WIRED 'maverick' Kevin Kelly and other great artists from PIXAR, ILM, Phil Tippet, EA and other great creative companies. We got together nearly 8 years ago to craft a story about the afterlife and wanted to shed all pre-conceived ideas of what the 'angel realm' might be like. Together with some sci-fi technology and plenty of imagination we managed to weave together a rich complex world of 'other realms' that exist along side our own. We designed new worlds, characters and ideas that you can now see and read...FOR FREE! That's right, you can go right now to silver-cord.net and read the entire first 214 page graphic novel on-line. Or if you are old school and like to have a paper copy you can order one from amazon createspace for $30.
The most immediate news is we now need your help to finish the second and final 210 page book. So as of today the Silvercord Kickstarter page is up for you to be a part of the second installment! Please help us reach our goal of $40,000 to help get the second book made so you can finish the story with us!
Go now to the SILVERCORD KICKSTARTER SITE!
thanks and I hope you enjoy the 1st book... above and beyond!

Prepping for San Diego Comic Con!
Finally! After years of talking about it, and a lots of work I'll be at this years epic 2012 San Diego Comic Con in July! I'll be there for several reasons and possibly in several locations. First off I'm going as a rep for the ILM Art Dept along with several of my co-workers. I'll also be helping promote the new "Nuthin' but Mech" book from Design Studio Press. I'll also be showing and even selling some custom mini poster prints of some of my work in the NBM book and some copies of my Gnomon DVD series. I hope to be teasing you with a few images of those posters and other work in the coming weeks.
So if you're one of the lucky hardcore thousands to be there, stop by and say hello and even take home a signed print and/or DVD!

American Le Mans Series
Spent last weekend at Laguna Seca for the ALMS races. Had a great time with my son and my friend Gus. No Audi again this year, but still lots of great teams out there. Even Patrick Dempsey was there to kick off their season in practice for 24hr run next year. All the photos here are by Gus at Gus Dizon Photography. Enjoy!

Vader gets a ride from West Coast Customs!
With the popularity of the Star Wars - Volkswagen campaign, West Coast Customs was tasked with designing a cool Star Wars car out of a VW. Thankfully Ryan Friedlinghaus is a huge Star Wars fan and I happen to work at ILM and am a big car / VW fan. So I had the great chance to have some input into the design and details. Based on a 2012 U.S. built VW Passat it's an impressive sight. I can't say much more than that, other than it's a great car packed with cool details. For more, keep an eye out for the full episode of Inside West Coast Customs on April 15th on Velocity channel for all the details. Got to hang out and have lunch with the gang during the reveal at ILM . Thanks to Ryan and the WCC crew for letting us be a part, namely John Goodson, Greg Grusby, Thang Le and John Bell.
just another day on the job :)

best TED talk ever!
Check out a TED talk from the future.
No, I didn't work on it, but as a fan of the older franchise it's awesome to see this level of sophistication be brought back to it by Ridley! can't wait!
